This site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
Like almost every website, the server that hosts it records basic technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages visited and the time. These logs are kept by my hosting provider, Fasthosts, and are used only to keep the site running and secure.
If you email me, I receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to include. I use this only to reply to you and, if we work together, to carry out that work. My email is provided by Google Workspace. I don't add anyone to a mailing list, and I don't sell or share your details.
Some pages include videos hosted by Vimeo. They are embedded using Vimeo's do-not-track setting, so the player doesn't set cookies or track your viewing. When a video loads, Vimeo still receives technical information such as your IP address, as any site does when content is loaded from it.
I rely on legitimate interests: responding to people who contact me, running my business, and keeping this site secure.
I keep emails for as long as they're useful for our correspondence. Where they form part of my business or tax records, I keep them for up to six years.
You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Email simon@simonknowles.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
